OSAT Blog Hop | New Review with Whiskey Business

Updated: Jun 11, 2020

Hello there! Thank you for stopping by and welcome to another month with the One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop! Wasn't Mikaela's projects just gorgeous? I am so excited to see so many new projects with brand new 2020 - 2021 Annual Catalogue items!

I am equally excited to share with you one of the new stamp sets, Whiskey Business. My husbands drink of choice is Rye and Ginger (Ale), so as soon as I saw this set, I just knew I had to have it! I am so glad to see this type of set from Stampin' Up!. And it just so happens that we have a matching decanter and glasses to go with the set!

Isn't this set just amazing? It really can be used for all occasion cards! For my card specifically, I am thinking this would make a great Father's Day card, although my husband did offer his opinion on this one, so maybe that wont work so well. :)

Card Details and Measurements:

  • Whisper White Cardstock Base: 8.5" x 5.5", scored at 4-1/4"

  • Basic Black Cardstock: 5.5" x 3"

  • 2020 - 2022 In Color Designer Series Paper in Cinnamon Cider: 5-1/4" x 2-3/4"

  • The 'rye' is coloured in using Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee Ink using a Blender Pen. These were then cut out using Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

  • Dies: Layering Circle Dies and Stitched Shape Framelit Dies

  • The sentiment is stamped in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and it is adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

  • I used the Gold Trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack and wrapped around the sentiment cutout three times.

  • I finished off the card with 2020–2022 In Color Enamel Dots in Cinnamon Cider.

Along with the card, I made a special Medallion to add to our decanter. I love decanters and the one we have is super pretty so I wanted something that not only would match the card, but one that would suit the decanter itself.

I ended up using smaller dies from the Layering Circles Die collection and add one of the new Gold Hoop Embellishments for a classier touch. It coordinates so nicely with the Gold Embossed sentiment.

Here are the full Medallion details:

  • Circle die cuts are from the Layering Circle Dies.

  • Gold Hoop is from the Gold Hoops Embellishments and it is adhered to the die cut circle using Mini Glue Dots.

  • The sentiment is stamped in Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and it is adhered to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots.

  • The 'rye' is coloured in using Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee Ink using a Blender Pen. These were then cut out using Paper Snips and adhered to the Medallion with Stampin' Dimensionals.

  • The Ribbon and Gold Trim are from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack ad are adhered to the Medallion using Mini Glue Dots.

Since I wanted the Medallion to lay flat against the decanter (since the decanter slants inward a bit), I used 3 stacked Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the Medallion to help it pop out. Note that the Dimensional sitting against the decanter still had the backing on it; I did not stick the Dimensional on the decanter itself.

I am so happy with how this turned out and the colours even match the Rye itself!

I really think that if you have anyone in your life who enjoys having a drink (or even a mocktail), then I would highly recommend this set. The set would even lend itself nicely to mimic lemonade, fruit juice, or any other drink.
